The first "Concrete Days" at Kortmann Beton
The concrete block industry is undergoing a digital transformation - Kortmann Beton from Schüttorf is a pioneer in this field. On 24.01.2020, Managing Director Henning Kortmann granted the invited guests of the Concrete Days a look behind the scenes of the concrete block plant in Schüttorf. The event was well attended with 20 renowned participants from the concrete block industry and offered the guests the opportunity for a tour of the innovative Kortmann Beton plant. There were also presentations on the topic of digitalisation in the concrete block plant by Henning Kortmann (Managing Director Kortmann Beton) and Andreas Hougardy (Managing Director SOFTBAUWARE).
In recent years, Kortmann has invested heavily in the networking and digitalisation of the plant. In the course of the modernisation of the concrete block plant, a radical change was dared in the area of machines as well as in the ERP software. Two years ago, the integrated ERP industry solution erpbos® was introduced at Kortmann Beton. Today, the complete ERP solution is a central component of the digitalisation strategy at Kortmann Beton. Thanks to many industry-specific functionalities and a high degree of adaptability, the software is able to map everyday processes as well as meet Kortmann Beton's high innovation standards. For example, the connection of the machines and the warehouse is one of Henning Kortmann's central concerns in order to improve transparency and the flow of information. Great progress has already been made here and further optimisations are in the ongoing process. Another advantage for the Kortmann company is the wide range of functions. In addition to the classic merchandise management processes, the integrated ERP solution also covers areas such as document management, customer relationship management, business intelligence, personnel time recording, route planning and much more. This high degree of integration ensures that the ERP system is used in almost all departments at Kortmann Beton.
