FUCHS family of companies starts ERP migration with Softbauware

The partnership between Gesys and Softbauware enabled existing Gesys customers to migrate completely to Softbauware's complete ERP solutions in order to create a long-term and sustainable software solution. Only a few months after the start of the migration offer, one of the largest concrete plant groups and at the same time the largest Gesys customer, the owner-managed FUCHS Fertigteilwerke and FUCHS Europoles, decided to join forces with Softbauware.

The FUCHS Group - one of the largest manufacturers of concrete and precast parts in Germany - is focusing on future-proofing: the final project start for the ERP migration at two of its companies, FUCHS Fertigteilwerke Süd GmbH and FUCHS Europoles GmbH, took place recently. Both companies are replacing the previously used Gesys system and migrating to solutions from Gesys via GESYSbos to ERPbos and ERPnow from Softbauware. While the concrete plants will work with ERPbos, the industry software for the concrete industry, Europoles will rely on the standard ERPnow solution. The group of companies is thus creating a common technological basis with tailor-made modules for both business areas - from the classic precast concrete plant to the specialist supplier of poles and towers. Once the migration is complete, more than 800 FUCHS Group employees will be working with the new systems. For Softbauware, this is not just a significant individual order, but the starting signal for the strategic migration of all existing Gesys customers together with the enventa Group.

Securing technology, shaping the future
"Digitalization has been a central topic in the FUCHS Group for many years," emphasizes Michael Novotny, Managing Director of FUCHS Europoles GmbH. "With the introduction of ERP solutions from Softbauware, we are opening up new opportunities to make processes more efficient and further expand our future viability."

For Softbauware GmbH, the project is also a signal to the market: "Together with Gesys and enventa, we are showing the FUCHS Group a migration strategy that ensures both technological progress and the reliability of existing processes," explains Stefan Zabicki, Managing Director of Softbauware and Gesys. "The mix of industry software and standard ERP as well as a free development environment create the greatest possible flexibility for the customer with simple administration." The Gesys and Softbauware project teams are working in partnership to support the migration process. In addition to the technology, the main focus is on knowledge transfer to ensure a smooth transition.

Market-wide signal
The decision by the FUCHS Group, Gesys' largest customer and a major player in the concrete industry, to rely on the complete ERP solution from Softbauware sends a clear signal to the entire market. The project shows how a modern ERP strategy can drive digitalization in the construction industry in a targeted manner - without any risks to ongoing processes.
